Endodontics

The goal of endodontics is to save and repair diseased or injured teeth and is concerned with treating the inside of the tooth or the “dental pulp.” Root canal therapy is probably the best known of these procedures, but endodontics also includes surgery and the treatment of cracked teeth and dental trauma.

Root Canal Therapy

There may not be a single dental procedure with a worse reputation than the dreaded root canal therapy. In truth, it’s not quite as bad as its made out to be. Root canal treatment is used to repair and salvage a badly decayed or infected tooth. The nerve and pulp of the tooth are removed and the inside of the tooth is then cleaned and sealed. Without this procedure the patient runs the risk or severe infection and/or dental abscesses.
