Huge thanks to our Dentistry of the Carolinas family of staff and patients for raising more than $2,300 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)! Your generous support and contributions helped Tyler Hammock’s Team – Tyler’s Tribe Saves Lives – raise more than $89,000 for the LLS Man & Woman of the Year campaign. She was among 16 candidates who collectively raised just under $1.5 million dollars for this year’s philanthropic competition to help cure blood cancer.

While Tyler didn’t win “Woman of the Year,” her efforts to raise significant funds for LLS are truly commendable. At the core of it all was her tribe that served as an extraordinary force in supporting the mission of LLS and in honoring one of our DOC staff member’s daughters – Paige – who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma (ALL).

The fundraising reached far and wide, and even included some hair-raising fun! From our staff who raised money through various raffles and in-office fundraisers, to generous contributions from our patients, friends and family and area corporations, this campaign was a true team effort.

A highlight was when Tyler’s twins, George and Catherine, reached their $5,000 fundraising goal to support their mom. Not only did Dr. Clark Hammock (Tyler’s husband) agree to join in the effort and help raise $5,000, but he shaved his head as part of an agreement of the twins reaching their $5,000 goal.

“Being part of the LLS Man and Woman of the Year celebration was a tremendous honor,” said Tyler, who serves chief operating officer of DOC. “I am extremely grateful to everyone who contributed to my campaign and were part of Tyler’s Tribe. I couldn’t have asked for a better tribe of supporters for blood cancer research.”

Thank you for supporting Tyler and the mission of LLS, and for being part of Tyler’s Tribe!
