Restoring Beautiful Smiles with Crowns and Bridges

It’s not uncommon for people to feel self-conscious about cracked, broken, decayed, or worn teeth. The good news is that problem is easily fixed. Your dentist can restore your healthy, happy and natural-looking smile with something we call a dental crown or a cap.  Made of strong, tooth-colored resins, dental crowns restore the missing structure, strength, and function of a tooth that has had extensive decay or damage.

People who wear crowns will tell you they hardly even notice them. Crowns are specifically designed for each individual patient to fit snugly and function as a healthy tooth. Even better – a crown will protect your tooth from further damage and preserve the jaw’s correct natural alignment.

A bridge is used to replace an entire missing tooth (or teeth) by joining an artificial tooth permanently to adjacent healthy teeth or dental implants. Also made of strong, tooth-colored resins in most cases, bridges do a wonderful job of filling in those gaps in your smile and bringing it back to life.

Typically, we can design, fit, and place dental crowns and bridges in just a couple of short appointments. Once your crown or bridge is in place, you’ll need to care for it and treat it just like your natural teeth. Regular brushing and flossing with a quality fluoride toothpaste will go a long way to protecting your teeth, and your new crown or bridge from bacterial growth and any future problems. In the meantime, you’ll know the joy of having your beautiful smile and your confidence back in full force!
