Research shows more than 50 percent adult Americans have gingivitis – an early form of gum disease that can lead to periodontal disease. A common symptom is when your gums bleed during brushing and flossing.

As part of Dental Hygiene Month, our team of Dentistry of the Carolinas dental hygienists is sharing beneficial oral health care tips to keep your mouth healthy. Cassie Price in our Monroe office always encourages daily flossing and her motto is “Your Gums Should Bleed As Often As Your Ears.”

Maintain good oral health and avoid gum disease by brushing twice daily, flossing daily and visiting your dentist for regular checkups.
